There’s more to eye health than good vision (although that’s a big part of it). Many eye diseases, from vision-stealing glaucoma to sight-destroying macular degeneration, often progress for months or even years before presenting noticeable symptoms.
That’s why the Canadian Association of Optometrists (CAO) recommends healthy adults have their eyes examined every one to two years.
A comprehensive eye exam – the kind that we provide at both our London and Glencoe offices – assesses your visual acuity (how well you see) and monitors your eye health.
The optometrist will check your visual acuity and visual field. They will also determine what optical prescription (if any) is needed to correct your vision.
If you currently wear glasses and are interested in trying contact lenses, please make an appointment for a consultation with one of our optometrists. During this consultation the optometrist will check your eye health (to make sure your eyes are healthy enough for contact lens wear) as well as measure your eyes to determine the lens design that will provide you with good vision, comfort and continued eye health.

Many refractive errors can be corrected via laser or other refractive eye surgeries. In London, several surgeries are performed: LASIK, PRK, RLE and ICLs. Each has their pros and cons, as well as eligibility requirements.
If you are interested in learning more about laser and refractive eye surgery, please book a consultation to meet with one of our optometrists. You can read more about laser eye surgery here.
Patient comfort is important to us! We’ve made investments in diagnostic technology and instruments that get extremely accurate results without compromising your comfort.
From start to finish, an eye exam takes approximately 30 – 45 minutes. If it is your first time visiting us, please allow for an extra few minutes to complete intake paperwork.
